Sweet Nothings by M
How a one-person custom cookie business went from Instagram DMs to a website that takes orders, books classes and tracks payments on its own.
Before
Melissa bakes hand-decorated custom cookies and teaches decorating classes, on her own, mostly from her phone. Orders came in through Instagram DMs and texts, and she kept track of everything, orders, notes and who owed what, in a paper notebook. It was easy to overbook a week and hard to keep track of who had paid.
After
Customers order and book online, and the site follows her real limits. She approves orders, sends invoices and sees her week at a glance from a private admin that works like a phone app.
What I built
For customers
- Order custom or artisan cookies online
- Minimum notice, blocked dates, weekly limits and drop-off ZIP codes built in
- Book and pay for classes, with live spots left
- Promo and gift codes
For the owner
- Dashboard with the week's orders and bake list
- Approve, adjust and message from her phone
- Invoices and payments that mark themselves paid
- Every price, rule and photo editable in plain language
Behind the scenes
- Test site for every change before it goes live
- Daily health check that emails only when something's wrong
- Built Google-ready, plus a Google Business Profile
- She owns every account

The demo runs on made-up orders, so you can order as a customer, then open the owner admin and see it land there.

"It's more than I ever expected or dreamed of. Leigha was amazing to work with. She thought through every little detail and got it just right, and she keeps making it better even after launch."
